MacArthur Fellow Jeanne Gang has built her Chicago-based practice Studio Gang to international renown through award-winning and highly complex projects including the United States Embassy in Brazil and iconic skyscrapers such as Aqua Tower. Her innovative approach, which foregrounds the relationship between individuals, communities, and the environment, has earned her numerous prestigious awards, from Architectural Review’s Woman Architect of the Year in 2016 to the 2013 National Design Award for Architecture from the Cooper Hewitt Museum.
With more than 25 years of professional practice leading signature aviation projects across the country, Jeff Mangels has led the transformation of four of the nation’s busiest airports, delivering design excellence while keeping the airports operational. Jeff has been instrumental in the development of program delivery strategies, building consensus, and understanding the financial and project delivery objectives of large, diverse aviation programs. At Corgan, he is a proactive leader, with a proven record of delivering results that meet diverse expectations.
Mark Frisch is a Principal with Solomon Cordwell Buenz (SCB), where his role as a Technical Design Lead has resulted in numerous awards, including AIA National Honor Awards, AIA Chicago’s Distinguished Building Award, and the Leaf Award for Best Use of Technology. His diverse portfolio reflects a close collaboration with internationally renowned engineering consultants for the design of integrated, high performance buildings.
Engineering Discipline Manager
Myesha McClendon has 14 years of experience leading multidisciplinary aviation engineering teams. Her experience managing building systems and civil work has distinguished her as a results-oriented professional with a proven ability to manage all aspects of a project. Myesha’s experience includes budgeting, scheduling, phasing and quality assurance/quality control. At Milhouse Engineering & Construction, her projects encompass design, construction, and site supervision.
Luis Collado is a 28-year veteran and Founding Principal of STL Architects. Luis has designed transformative buildings in Chicago such as the Lycée Francaise de Chicago, recipient of the 2018 Distinguished Building Award by the American Institute of Architects, and the Back of the Yards High School recipient of the 2014 Chicago Building Congress award. A leading representative of the architectural Latino community, Luis served as board member of HACIA from 2008 to 2011. Luis is an adjunct professor of architecture at the McCormick College of Engineering at Northwestern University.
